How Water gets to you
Water PNG Ltd Water Supply Profile
Water that you drink goes through a number of stages before it reaches your tap. From the water sources whether it being a river or from under the ground (bore water source), it makes it way to raw water storage tanks or chambers. It then gets treated at the Water Treatment Plants and then transported to service reservoirs before getting distributed through pumping stations and water mains.
At each of the Water PNG Ltd Business Centre, there is a single water source, raw water holding tank or chamber, a treatment plant to treat the water to drinkable standards and a number of service reservoirs that stores the treated water before getting distributed to customers.
There are more than twenty service reservoirs in the Water PNG Ltd water supply system. Water from the treatment plants is delivered by gravity fed bulk supply mains to these service reservoirs, before water is distributed through a network of reticulated pipes.
